Alure Home Improvements of East Meadow Honored by Professional Remodeler Magazine as 2005 Remodeler of the Year

EAST MEADOW, N.Y., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- On October 14th, Alure Home Improvements of East Meadow, New York, was honored in Baltimore, MD by Professional Remodeler Magazine as the 2005 National "Remodeler of the Year". Alure was selected for a combination of reasons, including but not limited to: their commitment and dedication to customer satisfaction, their superior quality of work, above and beyond customer service, their family type culture and mentoring of their employees, their consistent recognition by industry organizations and publications, focusing on all of the above while continuing to experience growth and maintain superior customer service, and their ongoing commitment to the community, most recently for spearheading three renovations for the hit show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, including the first ever on Long Island.

The following day, Alure CEO Carl Hyman was inducted into the H.I.M.S. group Legends of the Industry Hall of Fame, for his distinguished career of over 35 years in the remodeling industry, which included founding the growth of Alure from a small paint company back in the 1940's to the full servicing remodeling company they are today. Carl was instrumental in pioneering Alure's highly successful referral program as well as Alure's unique one-stop shopping approach. Hyman is also being honored later in the year with the Distinguished Citizen of the Year Award by the Suffolk County Boy Scouts.

It's been a very busy year for the Alure team. In March, Alure completed their third renovation for the hit show Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. Ferro was also honored earlier in the year by the Huntington Townwide Fund, and helped raise over $45,000 at their annual golf fundraiser on May 19th and on Tuesday, May 31st, Ferro was then invited to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Shea Stadium, as the New York Mets hosted the Arizona Diamondbacks. On September 26th, The INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network) held their annual Golf Outing, also honoring Sal Ferro for his dedication and commitment to the community and his ongoing support of many different charity organizations throughout Long Island. Sal was honored and emotionally touched to have been able to contribute the fund's most successful golf outing to date. "I was honored when The INN asked me to be this year's honoree and felt responsible to help join the opportunity to change the lives of many hungry and homeless people right here on Long Island. I'm overwhelmed by the support received from the community," said Ferro. Through several different means including golfers, sponsorships, journal ads and prizes donated for raffles and an auction, the event raised over $250,000. The $250,000 was a record for the event and will be used to help feed and house the hungry and homeless on Long Island.
