$150,000 Raised at Dashboard Confessional Shows for Hurricane Relief
NEW YORK, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Dashboard Confessional raised more than $150,000 for hurricane relief efforts during three concerts benefiting three separate charities: Save the Children, Direct Relief International and Americares.
The sold-out shows took place between dates opening for U2's Vertigo tour in Toronto, Chicago and New Jersey. 100% of ticket sales and 100% of merchandise sales went to aid; in addition Ticketmaster donated their service charge directly to charity. Coheed and Cambria, The New Amsterdams and The Honorary Title opened the benefit concerts.
Chris Carrabba has also donated the track "Ghost of a Good Thing" available as an audio download across the various online music retailers through MTV Networks from his performance on "ReAct Now: Music and Relief" concert. 100% of the retail price benefits American Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity.
A native of Boca Raton, FL, Carrabba feels an affinity toward those in the Gulf area affected by the tragedy and plans more fundraising in the near future.
Currently Dashboard Confessional is working on their follow-up record to their platinum LP "A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar" with producer Daniel Lanois (U2, Bob Dylan, Brian Eno, Peter Gabriel) due early 2006.
