Rising Star Hill Harper Soars to New Heights in Time for CSI:NY Season Premiere

Dr. Sheldon Hawkes Makes a Smooth Transition From Reclusive Crime Lab Coroner to Sexy and Intriguing Field Detective

NEW YORK, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- In addition to the drastic renovation in scenery, fans of the CBS mega hit CSI:NY will notice a major adjustment amongst the cast during the highly anticipated Wednesday, September 28th season premiere (10-11 PM EST). Dr. Sheldon Hawkes, played by Hollywood heartthrob Hill Harper, starts the season out of the coroner's office and joined with the forensic investigative team in the field as a detective. The season premiere, aptly titled "Summer in the City", will showcase the new CSI offices located in a Manhattan high rise which will include sleek labs, a staff break room and new office equipment along with state-of-the-art technology. Previously known as a reclusive and conflicted coroner, Dr. Hawkes' first case will have him working alongside Gary Sense's character Detective Mac Taylor on a fascinating case involving the death of an expert skyscraper climber who plunges to his death before hundreds of witnesses while climbing the Empire State Building.

Playing the role as a brilliant Ph.D is not a far stretch for the Ivy League graduate. Hill Harper graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brown University and earned graduate degrees in both law and public administration from Harvard. Also, profoundly affected in his own youth by Rainer Maria Rilke's LETTERS TO A YOUNG POET, Harper was inspired to write a book that would have similar impact on today's young men. LETTERS TO A YOUNG BROTHER will be the first in a series of books intended to provide the frequently regarded "lost generation" with words of encouragement and guidance. LETTERS TO A YOUNG BROTHER, published through Gotham Books, will hit bookshelves nationwide in April 2006.
