ST. PAUL, Minn., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- The Restoring the Rhythm benefit concert continues to grow. The Some-Burbs (featuring members of The Suburbs) were just added to the performance line up which already includes Violent Femmes, Cowboy Mouth and Tim Mahoney. The show will take place at U.S. Bank Theater at Target Center on Sunday, September 25th.

The event goal is to raise funds for the people of the Gulf Coast whose lives were forever changed by the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina. 100% of net ticket sales proceeds from the concert will be donated to Second Harvest Heartland and Tipitina's Foundation -- both 501c(3) charities bringing aid to hurricane survivors. America's Second Harvest is a national network of over 200 food banks that specialize in the logistics of acquiring and transporting the millions of pounds of food required to assist disaster victims. As of September 20th, 910 trucks carrying over 29 million pounds of critical food and grocery products have been dispatched through America's Second Harvest food banks to the affected areas. Second Harvest Heartland, based in St. Paul, is one of its largest food bank members and Minnesota's largest hunger-fighting organization. In 2004, we solicited, warehoused and distributed 31 million pounds of food to 800 member agencies in a 61-county region in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Tipitina's Foundation is a 501c(3) charitable organization formed in 2002 with the mission of uplifting the musical culture of New Orleans. Now it is saving it. Since its founding, the foundation has raised money to provide instruments to underprivileged children in New Orleans classrooms, developed an internship program designed to teach students all aspects of music business and opened a co-op business office providing business training and tools for New Orleans musicians. In light of the recent tragedy in New Orleans, the Foundation has shifted its current focus to the task at hand of preserving and reconstructing New Orleans cultural heritage. Its commitment is to provide the New Orleans music community in exile with whatever resources they need to survive, including, food clothing, shelter, instruments, gigs and options for resettlement.
