QVC Reaches Its $3 Million Pledge Goal for American Red Cross Hurricane Katrina Relief Efforts
WEST CHESTER, Pa., Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Working together with its vendors, customers and employees, QVC has raised more than $3 million for the American Red Cross's Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, fulfilling the pledge the company made on September 1. Through the generous support of its vendor community, QVC offered customers the opportunity to purchase hundreds of products with a portion of the sales going to support the relief efforts. All vendor contributions were matched by QVC.
In addition to the $3 million contribution, QVC raised more than $247,000 for the American Red Cross through an employee matching donation initiative.
"QVC is extremely pleased to have met our goal so quickly, and to get the money in the hands of the Red Cross so the funds can be used immediately," said Doug Briggs, QVC's president and CEO.
