New Voice for America's Favorite Cookie to Star in National Radio Commercial and Take Home $10,000
TV's Randy Jackson Awards Grand Prize to Winning Group of the Oreo(R) "Milk's Favorite Jingle" Contest
LOS ANGELES, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- A group of friends struck the right chord to become the voice for Oreo cookie's new national radio commercial! Chris Chatham, 25, Christopher Price Thomas, 22, Toby Dunnelly, 23, and Marty Gasper, 26, who call themselves "Blue Jupiter," were named the grand prize winning group of the Oreo "Milk's Favorite Jingle" contest on September 22nd in Los Angeles, Calif.
The winners competed among ten finalist groups at a finale event hosted by TV's Randy Jackson. The grand prize winning group received $10,000 and an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to record a national radio commercial in an LA-based studio, where some of the industry's top music talents have recorded award-winning albums. The new commercial will air on stations across the country this November.
The Winning Combination
The first-ever "Milk's Favorite Jingle" contest invited small groups (2-4 people) to put their personal style on the classic "Oreo and Milk" jingle lyrics. After hearing about the nation-wide search, the quartet put their talents to work and created a funky, pop a-cappella arrangement.
New York-based Chatham, Price Thomas, Dunnelly, and Gasper are friends who have dreamed of being professional musicians since they were kids. They plan to use their $10,000 winnings to improve their music studio.
"Winning the Oreo 'Milk's Favorite Jingle' contest is one of the most exciting moments in our lives," said Gasper. "We have always loved singing together and winning this contest has inspired us to really take our music career to the next level."
Randy Helps Celebrate the Oreo and Milk Moment
Jackson brought the "Milk's Favorite Jingle" contest to life by helping to kick it off this summer and hosting the finale event. Jackson was on hand to hear all of the finalists sing and announce the winning group.
"The creativity, energy and talent we've seen from these contestants really shows how the 'Oreo and Milk' experience connects people in powerful ways," said Jackson. "It's been really fun seeing how people put their own personal twists on the classic jingle ... and the winning group really deserves this prize."
Hundreds of entries were submitted via live local market auditions, and mailed-in from across the country.
