Integrated Solution Allows Low-Cost, Rapid Migration Path To Triple Play Services

NEW YORK and IBC, Amsterdam, Stand 3.324, September 7/PRNewswire/ -- NDS, the leading provider of technology solutions for digital pay-TV, and WiNetworks will demonstrate an integrated triple play solution for DBS operators that relies on the leading VideoGuard(R) CA system to secure both DVB and IP video streams delivered simultaneously from Satellite and WiMAX infrastructure. The WiNetworks patented Hybrid WiMAX DVB (HWDV(TM)) technology solution enables satellite digital broadcasters (DBS) to offer Triple Play services such as telephony, broadband Internet, video on demand, always-on interactive TV services and future mobile support, over their existing network infrastructures.

The NDS and WiNetworks integrated solution enables the upgrade of existing infrastructure to a combined broadcast and broadband IP network while retaining all the features of secure distribution, billing and purchasing rights as part of a one enhanced VideoGuard(R) Conditional Access System.

The integrated solution enables DBS Operators an instant, low-cost migration path to Triple Play services that can be immediately presented to customers. By offering a complete bundle of Triple Play services, DBS operators can protect and increase subscriber base, decrease customer churn, and increase ARPU and total revenues.
