Musician Rallies Fans Via P2P Networks, Performs at Anti-War Rally in Nation's Capital
ATLANTA, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Scooter Scudieri's appearance at Sunday's "End the War on Iraq" rally on the mall in Washington, D.C. can be attributed to two dynamics: the singer-songwriter-activist's passionate opposition to the war, and the powerful capabilities of the Internet to spread his music and his message.
"I use my music as a message of peace and the Internet as a means to connect us all," Scudieri (http://www.firstrockstar.com/) commented. And the West Virginia-based artist has had remarkable success doing so. Considered the most searched for independent rock musician on the Internet's peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing networks, Scudieri has built a sizable fan base in a relatively short period of time. No doubt, he'll please many of his fans when he performs "America," his haunting ballad, at the Sylvan Theater on the grounds of the Washington Monument at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. The gathering is part of a three-day event coordinated by United for Peace and Justice (http://www.unitedforpeace.org/), a broad-based coalition of anti-war groups across the U.S.
"Without question, P2P file-sharing has had an extraordinary impact raising Scooter's profile. Scooter releases all of his music via P2P and has broken several records for Internet searches -- currently 50 million and counting -- as well as downloads," commented Les Ottolenghi, president of INTENT MediaWorks (http://www.intentmediaworks.com/). The Atlanta-based company distributes Scudieri's music and videos, as well as other legitimate entertainment content, over major open P2P networks. INTENT launched "America" for free download (http://www.offthepeer.com/shared/Scooter_Scudieri-America-OTP.wma) over those networks on Thursday, Sept. 22.
"Scooter is the first full-service musician of the twenty-first century. We're proud to be associated with his impressive rise, and we look forward to our projects with this innovative artist," Ottolenghi concluded.
