More Performers Announced for 'The 39th Annual CMA Awards'

Top Nominees Brad Paisley and Lee Ann Womack; Reigning Male Vocalist of the Year Keith Urban; and CMA Awards Hosts Brooks & Dunn To Perform

NASHVILLE, Sept. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- "Country Music's Biggest Night(TM)" is getting bigger with the announcement today that the two top CMA Awards nominees -- Brad Paisley and Lee Ann Womack -- will perform when "The 39th Annual CMA Awards" airs live Tuesday, Nov. 15 (8:00-1:00 PM/ET) on the CBS Television Network live from New York City's famed Madison Square Garden. Joining them on the list of performers will be reigning CMA Male Vocalist of the Year Keith Urban and CMA Awards hosts Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn of superduo Brooks & Dunn.

Since blasting onto the scene with their No. 1 debut single "Brand New Man" in 1991, Brooks & Dunn have had 23 No. 1 singles, sold nearly 30 million albums and picked up 14 CMA Awards, including Entertainer of the Year in 1996. They hold 12 CMA Vocal Duo of the Year Awards -- a record for the category and they are nominated for Vocal Duo again in 2005.

Paisley, who received six CMA Award nominations, has already won five CMA Awards since he received one of his first nominations in 2000 for the Horizon Award. In 2005, Paisley is nominated for Entertainer of the Year (his first nomination in the category); Male Vocalist of the Year; Single, Song and Music Video of the Year for "Alcohol;" and Musical Event of the Year with Sara Evans for "New Again." In 2004, Paisley won Musical Event and Music Video of the Year for "Whiskey Lullaby" with Alison Krauss. 2005 is the second year that Paisley has tied with another artist for the most CMA Award nominations in one year. In 2000, Paisley and Faith Hill both received six nominations.

Urban won his first CMA Award in 2001, when the multi-Platinum Capitol Nashville artist picked up the Horizon Award. It was an indication of things to come and in 2004 Urban won the competitive Male Vocalist of the Year category. In 2005, he has four CMA Award nominations including Music Video of the Year for "Days Go By;" Album of the Year for Be Here; Male Vocalist; and Entertainer of the Year, his first nomination in the category.

Womack received six CMA Award nominations including Female Vocalist of the Year (which she won in 2001); Album of the Year for her MCA Nashville release There's More Where That Came From; Single and Music Video of the Year for "I May Hate Myself In The Morning;" and two nominations for Musical Event of the Year, one with George Strait for "Good News, Bad News," and one with Willie Nelson for "I'll Never Be Free."

Kenny Chesney, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson and George Strait have already been announced as performers, with more names to be added in the coming weeks.

The CMA Awards are produced by Walter C. Miller and directed by Paul Miller. David Wild will script the ceremonies. MJI Programming, a division of Premiere Radio Networks, is the official radio packager of the CMA Awards, which includes Red Carpet coverage and a stereo-radio simulcast of the gala event. Chevy, an American Revolution, is the official automotive sponsor of the 2005 CMA Awards. American Airlines is the official airline of the 2005 CMA Awards. Additional promotional sponsors include Prilosec OTC and Creme Savers. Charles Fazzino is the official artist of the 2005 CMA Awards.
