Adams Tribute Features Classic Game Show Appearances on 'MATCH GAME'

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Beginning Monday, Oct. 3 from 3:30-4:00 PM ET/PT, GSN will be airing a week-long MATCH GAME tribute to legendary actor/comedian Don Adams, who passed away Sunday at the age of 82. Best known as the inept Maxwell Smart (Agent 86) on the hit series "Get Smart," GSN will feature some of Adams' funniest appearances as a panelist on the Gene Rayburn-hosted show each day of the week.

In addition to his work as Agent 86, Adams served as voice talent on the cartoon series "Inspector Gadget" and was the voice of Tennessee Tuxedo. He also served as a game show host on the 1975 series "Don Adams' Screen Test." This weekly game show featured contestants who would re-enact scenes from famous movies.

Among his numerous accomplishments, Adams won three Prime Time Emmy Awards as Outstanding Comedy Actor and the "Get Smart" show won the Emmy for Best Comedy Series twice.

In addition to bringing laughs to millions of viewers, Adams was responsible for several national catchphrases from "Get Smart" including "Sorry about that, chief" and "Would you believe...?"
