Comcast Launches Five International Channels in Southern California

French, Russian, Vietnamese, Japanese and Filipino Channels Now Available for Comcast Customers

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sept. 15 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Expanding its multicultural programming choices, Comcast announces the launch of five international channels -- TV5 (French), C1RW (Russian), SBTN (Vietnamese), TV JAPAN (Japanese) and GMA Pinoy TV (Filipino). These channels are now available to Comcast digital cable customers in Southern California as digital premium networks.

* TV5 (French) -- TV5 broadcasts 24 hours of French-language news, movies, documentaries, entertainment and cultural programs. Available on Comcast channel 288. * C1RW (Russian) -- Channel One Russia Worldwide is an international version of Channel One Russia (formerly ORT channel), Russia's leading television network. Available on Comcast channel 286. * SBTN (Vietnamese) -- Saigon Broadcasting Television Network keeps the growing population of Vietnamese Americans connected to their language and culture. Available on Comcast channel 281. * TV JAPAN (Japanese) -- TV JAPAN serves the Japanese American population and Japanese expatriates working in the United States with a rich lineup of news, entertainment and sports. Available on Comcast channel 289. * GMA Pinoy TV (Filipino) -- GMA Pinoy TV is known within Filipino communities worldwide for its quality original programming, award-winning news and investigative reporting. Available on Comcast channel 279.
