Columbia College Chicago to Host Chicago Advanced Screening of 'Roll Bounce'

Hometown boys return to their favorite set -- Chicago-- for their fifth feature film.

WHAT: Columbia College alumni Bob Teitel and George Tillman Jr., the duo responsible for catching Hollywood's attention with "Soul Food," "Men of Honor," "Barbershop," and "Barbershop: Back in Business" have returned to their Chicago roots with a fifth feature project: "Roll Bounce."

"Roll Bounce" was produced by Bob and George's State Street Productions and directed by Malcolm D. Lee ("Undercover Brother," "The Best Man") from an original screenplay penned by Norman Vance, Jr. ("Beauty Shop," "Girlfriends"). "Roll Bounce" was filmed in Chicago using Columbia students and other local talent in all aspects of the film.

"Roll Bounce" is an ensemble picture starring Bow Wow as X. Chi McBride, who was nominated AFI Actor of the Year for his role on "Boston Public," plays X's father. The film features an eclectic group of young talent: Mike Epps, Wesley Jonathan, Meagan Good and Nick Cannon.

Fox Searchlight will donate 10 percent of opening weekend box office proceeds for the film's September 23 U.S. release to Operation USA for Hurricane Katrina disaster relief.
