Austin Golfer Leads 18-49 Division in Second Round of Qualifying for 2005 People vs. The Pros at Barton Creek

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Austin's Jeff Jumonville built his lead to seven shots in the 18-49 Division after the second of three rounds of qualifying in the 2005 People vs. the Pros at Barton Creek Resort & Spa Presented by BASF.

Jumonville, 32, runs Callaway Golf's greeting card division in Austin. He shot net scores of 69 and 70 to lead the 18-49 age division for the second day. The winner of that division advances to play PGA Tour star Justin Leonard for $100,000 in the Grand Match Finals on Monday, Sept. 12 and that's the very reason Jumonville entered this tournament. "A Baylor Bear always wants to beat a Longhorn," said Jumonville. "I entered this year to beat Justin Leonard." The match will be televised on ESPN at 7:30-9 p.m. ET on Sept. 19.

Dominic Annulli shot a net score of 67 today to lead the 50+ age division by three strokes. Annulli, 64, owns a nursery in Danville, PA. The winner of that division will take on popular PGA Champions standout Ben Crenshaw in the Grand Prize Finals.

The third and final round of qualifying will be tomorrow on Barton Creek's Crenshaw and Fazio Foothills courses beginning at 7:40 a.m. The Grand Prize Match finals will be held Monday on the Fazio Foothills Course beginning at 10:15 a.m. Daily pairings and results are on the event's web site, http://www.pvpgolf.com/.
