Virgin Space Race for Jupiter Ace
Virgin Space Race for Jupiter Ace
LONDON, July 15/PRNewswire/ -- Space nut 'Jupiter Ace' is so obsessed with infinity and beyond he has earmarked all proceeds from his Top 40 single '1000 Years' to secure a space on the first commercial Virgin Galactico space flight. He's even composed a take-off soundtrack for Richard Branson!
Jupiter Ace AKA Gregory Ferguson has been aiming for the stars since he started making music - productions such as 'Journey To Another Planet' and 'Spacepod' alongside the current song '1000 Years' prompted NME to label him "Northern Ireland's Best Kept Secret"
Now the reason for Gregory's aim for fame becomes clear: he wants to play the first song in space.
The price of a seat on the Galactico is around GBP100,000 and tickets are being snapped up. Gregory is so desperate to get on board, has been saving all the money he's been making from record sales and DJ gigs.
He says, "It's always been my dream to view Earth from space and I'm determined to use my chart success to take this opportunity.
My friends think I'm tight, but they don't know that every penny I make is going towards a trip to space!"
Gregory, who is signed to the appropriately named Universal Music, even has dancing spaceman in his '1000 Years' video, currently showing on MTV. He has seen his star ascending in recent months, remixing big names like Fatboy Slim, MVP and Lovefreekz.
A spokesman from Richard Branson's office said, "We look forward to hearing Jupiter Ace's special in-flight entertainment. Who knows, if it's good enough, he might get a discounted ticket for Virgin Galactico."
Jupiter Ace '1000 Years' is out now on Manifesto Records
