"I am so confident that my new series will make people laugh," said Shore, "I've convinced the network heads at TBS to let me offer this special guarantee. MINDING THE STORE is a unique unscripted comedy series that follows Pauly's adventures in running the legendary Comedy Store. As the show opens, Pauly explains it all:

"Remember me? Well, maybe this will help: I used to be on top of the world, but now, not so much. Well, let me bring you up to speed. I was born into comedy ... literally. My dad's a comic, and my mother Mitzi owns the world-famous Comedy Store. I grew up around the greats. And while The Comedy Store was rocking, so was I: first standup, then TV and then movies. And with fame came girls, lots of girls. Today Comedy Store legends rule the box office. And me, I can't even get a role. And now, if reviving my career isn't hard enough, my mom wants me to run the family business. Who would have ever thought the fate of the legendary Comedy Store would be in the hands of me, Pauly Shore? I can't believe I'm the one left MINDING THE STORE."

Episodes of MINDING THE STORE follow Pauly as he tries to turn the Comedy Store around, putting cosmetic renovations on the place, coming up with special theme nights, and dealing with his mother's controlling influence. Along for the ride is his right-hand man, Marlon; his sex therapist, Dr. Allen; his mom's personal snitch, talent booker Tommy; his personal assistant, Sara; his hefty comic friend Marc; and a host of other off-beat characters. But Pauly's issues aren't only with his new job. He's trying to regain his professional footing as an actor while at the same time trying to find a woman with whom he can finally settle down.

The Comedy Store, located on the Sunset Strip, was founded in 1972 by Mitzi Shore's then husband, comedian Sammy Shore. From the beginning, it featured the top new comedic talent on the circuit, and Mitzi, who acquired ownership of the store in her divorce settlement, became one of the most powerful talent brokers in Hollywood. The venue continues to present stand up comedy seven days a week.

Pauly Shore gained national attention in 1990, when his MTV series Totally Pauly became an immediate hit. After a four-year run, Shore moved into feature films, starring as "The Weasel" in Encino Man, Son-In-Law, In the Army Now, Jury Duty, Bio-Dome and The Curse of Inferno. Last year, he made his feature-film directing debut with Pauly Shore is Dead, a semi-autobiographical dark comedy in which he fakes his own death in order to get the attention he craves.
