ROCK STAR: William Goldberg 'Rocks the House' at Elton John's White Tie & Tiara Ball
NEW YORK, July 7 /PRNewswire/ -- William Goldberg has done it once again and "rocked the night away." They have teamed up with Chopard for the world premiere of their latest masterpiece at Elton John's White Tie & Tiara Ball last Thursday evening. Known for their rare, historical gemstones William Goldberg unveiled a gem 85 carat rough diamond valued at $5 million. This one of a kind stone is so extraordinary that it will be polished to reveal the largest Ashoka diamond ever: a 35 carat D Flawless Ashoka.
William Goldberg announced last month a new strategic alliance with the internationally renowned watch and jewelry brand Chopard. The two luxury companies joined forces to create a collection of one-of-a-kind watches and jewelry featuring William Goldberg's Ashoka Diamonds.
With the theme of last evening being "AFRICA", the incredible stone was very appropriate for the gala since it was just recently discovered in South Africa. In attendance at the ball, was an audience of A-listers such as Sharon Stone, Elizabeth Hurley, David and Victoria Beckham, and Joss Stone -- all admirers of the amazing 85 carat rough diamond. The evening, benefiting the Elton John AIDS Foundation, was the 7th annual event and raised nearly $4 million for the fight against AIDS.
"We have had a relationship with Chopard for a period of years," said Saul Goldberg, CEO of William Goldberg, and son of the company's founder. "Because our new partnership, we were able to premiere one of the most exceptional and rare diamonds in the world at such a prestigious event. We are thrilled to be with Chopard and be part of Elton John's White Tie & Tiara Ball, especially this year with its focus on AIDS in Africa."
Ensuring unparalleled standards of excellence, William Goldberg is one of the world's most distinguished diamond houses. The William Goldberg brand is synonymous with the most renowned gemstones in history, having cut, among others, the 89 carat Guinea Star, the 5.11 carat Red Shield -- the largest red diamond ever graded by the Gemological Institute of America and the extraordinary Premier Rose -- 137 carat D flawless pear shaped diamond.
