Janet Hill Named Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications, Paramount Pictures

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., July 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Janet Hill has been named to the newly created position of Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications, Paramount Pictures, it was announced today by Paramount Pictures Chairman and CEO Brad Grey. Hill will be based in Los Angeles and will report to Mr. Grey.

In this position, Hill will oversee internal and external business and media communications and public relations for the company.

Commenting on the announcement, Grey said, "As we continue to reinvent the studio and work to improve the culture, Janet will play a key role for us. She brings tremendous communications experience from MTV Networks and her many years in the film industry, along with a track record of successes and strong leadership skills to this new role. She has worked along with the Paramount team on many of MTV Films' big hits, including 'Jackass: The Movie,' 'The Longest Yard,' 'Coach Carter,' and 'Better Luck Tomorrow,' as well as Nick Movies' hits, including 'Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events' and 'The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.'"

In addition to working with Brad Grey, Gail Berman and the studio's executive team, Hill will also work closely with Nancy Kirkpatrick, Executive Vice President of Worldwide Publicity, and her team, who will continue to handle the day-to-day feature publicity operations for Paramount Pictures, reporting directly to Gerry Rich, President of Worldwide Marketing. Ms. Hill recently served as the Senior Vice President of West Coast Corporate Communications for MTV Networks, a position in which she managed all of MTV Networks' internal and external communications, including business, trade, and consumer publicity on the west coast.

Before joining MTV Networks, Ms. Hill was Executive Vice President of Publicity for Miramax Films, where she worked for eight years and was involved with campaigns on films including "Pulp Fiction," "Il Postino," "The English Patient," "Scream," "Good Will Hunting," "Shakespeare in Love," "Chocolat," and "In the Bedroom." Ms. Hill was a partner in Yorke & Hill Public relations before joining Miramax in 1994. She began her career at Tri-Star Pictures in NY and went on to work as a publicist in Tri-Star's Los Angeles offices before joining PMK Public Relations as a Senior Account Executive.
