US-VISIT Program to Host Media Briefing to Discuss Developments in Border and Immigration Management
US-VISIT Director Jim Williams will host a media briefing to provide an update on many components of the U.S. government's vision for a 21st century immigration and border management system, specifically the progress of the US-VISIT Program. There will be a demonstration of the testing of radio frequency identification (RFID) technology that will process visitors at selected U.S. land border ports of entry starting this summer, the testing of e-Passports at Los Angeles International Airport, the deployment of US-VISIT technology at remaining land ports of entry and the deployment of an automated exit solution at the remaining airports and seaports.
