Top British film industry names are coming together on Monday 4 July to launch an Equalities Charter for Film. The first of its kind, it will tackle issues of access, training and representation, both behind the camera and on-screen.
At the same time, a new DVD to inspire young people, particularly those from ethnic minority groups, to consider a career in film will be revealed. Presented by T4's June Sarpong, the DVD features interviews with director Gurinder Chadha (Bend it like Beckham, Bride and Prejudice), Naomie Harris (28 Days Later, After the Sunset), Vas Blackwood (Creep, Lock Stock...) and director Asif Kapadia (The Warrior). The free DVD is now available for schools and colleges.
