Comerica TasteFest 2005 Turns Up the Heat to Show Why it is Michigan's Premier Street Festival

Fourth of July weekend event to be held Thursday, June 30 - Monday, July 4

WHO & WHAT: Comerica TasteFest 2005 -- The 17th annual Comerica TasteFest -- Detroit's tastiest summertime food and music event -- is going to fire up the grills and turn up the heat on another fabulous Fourth of July street festival in Detroit's New Center, Thursday, June 30 - Monday, July 4, 2005.

This year's Comerica TasteFest is packed with something for everyone's taste buds! More than 60 local and national acts -- including The Box Tops featuring Alex Chilton, Los Lobos, and Faith Evans -- will appear on four stages. An eclectic shopping experience in the 2nd AVE. Street Market will feature 20 diverse specialty stores. For little TasteFest tykes, there's an expanded "Tot Lot," while rock climbing and the Pistons' shoot-out await tweens and teens in The Youth Zone. And of course, there's a mouthwatering array of delectable cuisines from more than 40 local restaurants.

The Comerica TasteFest is a fund-raising event for New Center Council, Inc., and to help secure additional capital for its local charitable and community maintenance programs, an online auction will be held this year for the first time ever. Check out http://www.comericatastefest.com/ .
