Time Warner Extends Landmark Contract with Nielsen Media Research Through 2008

3-Year Extension to Existing Agreement for National and Local TV Ratings

Includes LPM Service in NY, Los Angeles and Atlanta

NEW YORK, June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Time Warner Inc (NYSE:TWX) and Nielsen Media Research announced today an extended landmark contract for television audience estimates for Time Warner's national and local television businesses. The original 7-year contract between the two companies was a first-of-its-kind agreement at the time it was announced in 1998.

The agreement covers Time Warner's broadcast, cable and syndication business units, including Time Warner Cable, Turner Broadcasting, The WB Television Network, HBO, Court TV, and Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution.

The agreement provides the Time Warner businesses with national and local television audience estimates, including Local People Meter (LPM) service for Time Warner Cable in New York and Los Angeles and for WTBS in Atlanta. In addition, the agreement enables both companies to share information and to work together to develop and test new television measurement systems.
