"We operate two venues in a highly competitive marketplace for touring events visiting the Bay area," said Oakland Alameda County Coliseum Complex General Manager, Mark Kaufman. "We look forward to continuing to provide a first rate entertainment experience to our patrons and to utilizing Ticketmaster's technology and marketing solutions to help drive ticket sales for our events."
Beginning today, Ticketmaster will be providing patrons throughout Northern California and beyond with easy and convenient access to Oakland Arena and McAfee Coliseum event tickets and information online at ticketmaster.com, via phone through Ticketmaster's Charge-By-Phone Network by calling 510-625-TIXS, 415-421-TIXS, or 925-685-TIXS, and at Ticketmaster retail ticket center locations throughout Northern California and Northern Nevada including Tower Records, Wherehouse Music, and select Save Mart Supermarkets, Ritmo Latino, and F.Y.E. stores.
"With the exception of U2, the facilities' shows were transferred over to Ticketmaster last night and sales will begin through the Ticketmaster system today," said Box Office Manager, Susan Mayo. "The new system is user- friendly, so we anticipate a smooth transition. We're even going on sale with two large shows, Scream IV and Destiny's Child, back-to-back this weekend."
The Oakland Arena's on-site Box Office will remain open and continue to operate during its normal business hours, Monday through Saturday. In addition to selling concert and event tickets, the Box Office will now be equipped to sell single game tickets for the Oakland Raiders football team and Golden State Warriors basketball team. The Oakland Raiders and the Golden State Warriors, both current Ticketmaster clients, will continue utilizing Ticketmaster. The Oakland Athletics will continue utilizing its current ticketing service.
"We are honored that after extensive examination, Oakland Arena and McAfee Coliseum have chosen to team up with Ticketmaster. The venues and their patrons will be well-served by the ticketing technology, marketing, and customer service solutions we are implementing," said Cathy Felling, Executive Vice President, West Region, Ticketmaster.
