How to Keep Your Kids From Losing Their Minds This Summer

How to Keep Your Kids From Losing Their Minds This Summer

KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Teacher and the Rockbots release its newest CD, SCIENCE, just in time for summer vacation. Kids spend the school year learning, handing in homework and taking tests, and then all of their progress slips away during vacation. But summer doesn't have to be a waste; why not offer them modern music whose lyrics reflect the kinds of things that they've learned?

Has anyone ever been able to recite the alphabet without singing the ABC song in your head? Can you name Santa's reindeer without singing the song? Research supports what Teacher and the Rockbots already know: Kids remember stuff when it's in a song.

The Rockbots' new 13-song CD reinforces elementary school science lessons in a kid-friendly way with humor, modern rock music and commentary from a robot ... Think 21st century "Schoolhouse Rock." And to make the songs like a game, clues are given in the verses so that listeners can try to guess the answers before they are revealed. The New York Post says, "So catchy are the songs that kids will forget they're learning."

"The Scientific Method" is explained by designing a simple experiment to find out who farted. I dare you not to laugh while you learn! "Water Cycle" and "Electricity" grab plenty of attention through head-bobbing, infectious energy while "Where Will I Go?" is punctuated by a resounding toilet flush after a journey through the human digestive system. Good stuff for a kid.

And there's more. Their previous release, MULTIPLICATION, is an excellent choice for parents that want to reinforce math skills and was named "Editor's Pick" on CD Baby, the largest independent recording distributor in the US. The next CD, scheduled for release later this year, will be called AMERICA and will feature songs that reinforce American history.

The web site, http://www.teacherandtherockbots.com/, provides music samples and "Smart-Kid Worksheets" to help evaluate how much your kids are learning. CDs are available online for $12.97.
