MSO's Get Easy Access to Multiple Networks Off a Single Transponder

NEW YORK, June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Genesis Networks, a provider of hybrid next generation global video services to major broadcasters, has begun delivering Azteca America and Canal SUR to cable systems in the United States, bringing to ten the number of major Latin American television networks on its Hispanic Distribution Platform. Using the platform, Multiple System Operators (MSOs) easily and efficiently receive programming from multiple Hispanic networks off a single satellite transponder using one receiver.

Other networks currently on the Genesis Hispanic Distribution Platform, first launched in March 2003, include AYM Sports, MVS Cine Latino, Claxson, Claxson HTV, Claxson Infinito, Utilisima, VideoRola, and Telefe Internacional.

Genesis gathers the network programming from Mexico, Argentina and Peru at the Genesis Teleport in North Miami, FL and distributes it to US cable systems over the Genesis Transponder (#12) on Intelsat America's 13, using a Motorola DigiCipher II distribution system. Genesis provides a turnkey solution, managing all aspects distribution service, including full time uplinking, full time digital C-Band channel capacity, provision of all required hardware, 24x7 affiliate authorization and support services, and network affiliate database management services.
