Caron Foundation Honors Diane Von Furstenberg at 10th Annual New York City Gala

Proceeds will benefit Caron Foundation Adolescent Treatment and Recovery Programs

NEW YORK, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The Caron Foundation, one of the nation's oldest and largest addiction treatment providers, held on Wednesday, June 8 its 10th Annual New York City Gala at Harry Cipriani's landmark Cipriani 42nd Street. The gala, emceed by actor Charles Grodin, honored legendary fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg.

Von Furstenberg was presented with The Caron Foundation NYC Award of Excellence for her longstanding commitment and support of a wide variety of philanthropies. Co-Chairpersons for the event included Peter Boyle, Alba & Francesco Clemente, Ann Dexter-Jones, Barry Diller, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, David Geffen, Pamela Hanson & Jamie Frankfurt, Joel J. Kassimir, M.D., Calvin Klein, Richard Price & Judy Hudson, Jane & Terry Semel, Jane Wenner, and the Ziff Family. Notable guests included Ellen Barkin, Ron Perelman, Art Garfunkel, Isaac Hayes, Roberta Flack, and Mick Jones. The event included a musical performance by the group Foreigner and a silent auction.

The event raised an estimated $900,000 that will go towards adolescent treatment scholarships program funding at the Caron New York Recovery Center in Manhattan. The Caron Foundation Scholarships are among one of the few available scholarships for addiction recovery for adolescents.
