AT&T Powers Sam Ash Network

HICKSVILLE, N.Y., June 28 /PRNewswire/ -- AT&T has won a $7 million networking contract from Sam Ash, "the world's favorite music store," to support the company's point-of-sale and supply-chain-management applications at 45 stores across the United States.

The three-year contract expands and extends a long-time relationship between the companies.

"Customers who visit our retail stores will enjoy a faster and more efficient shopping experience thanks to AT&T's technology," said David C. Ash, chief operating officer and general counsel. "AT&T is also helping us troubleshoot network bottlenecks to eliminate unnecessary delays in processing sales transactions."

Sam Ash megastores sell musical instruments and accessories, sound and recording equipment, sheet music and videos, computers and music software. The company operates stores in Arizona, California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Nevada, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia. It also runs a pro services and parts division, Sam Ash Professional and an Educational Division, that specializes in serving schools.

AT&T also provides local and long-distance phone service at Sam Ash locations nationwide.
