'Not So Far Away' will feature first single, 'Stay'
AUSTIN, Texas, April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- wideawake, the award-winning band from Austin, TX, will release its latest album, "Not So Far Away" on April 26, the band announced today. The first single, "Stay," is already receiving airplay on radio.
Blending modern rock and acoustic pop, wideawake recently swept the Austin Music Awards, held on March 16, 2005 at South by Southwest. The band took home four awards: Best Rock Band, Best Pop Band, Best Male Vocal (Scott Leger), Best Songwriter (Scott Leger).
In 2003, wideawake won the Austin Music Foundation's "Incubator Award" for Best Rock Band. Their music has been featured on TV in "Dawson's Creek" and in film in "The Ring." The band has opened for such artists as Switch Foot, Third Eye Blind, and Gavin DeGraw.
wideawake features Scott Leger on vocals, Eddie Willis and Nate Navarro on guitar, Chris Heerlein on bass and Matt Fletcher on drums. Their previous albums were entitled "Bigger Than Ourselves" and "Thread."
As part of the launch for the new record, wideawake will perform at a CD release party on April 22 at Antone's in Austin. The band will also be performing at historic Waterloo Records in Austin on April 26 at 5:00pm. wideawake's upcoming schedule can be found at www.wideawake.com.
