Times Like These Hits Record Stores April 26
NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Country music traditionalist Buddy Jewell will be here, there and everywhere this month as he presents his second Columbia Records album, Times Like These. Produced by Garth Fundis, the creator of classic hits for Trisha Yearwood and Keith Whitley, the album will arrive in record stores on Tuesday, April 26.
Jewell is currently scaling the country charts with "If She Were Any Other Woman," the lead single from his new album, which features the incomparable Vince Gill on harmony vocals. Jewell has had the #1 top-selling single for 8 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Top Country Singles chart. His self-titled debut album has been certified gold and is on its way to platinum status.
On Tuesday, April 19, Jewell accepted a Fatherhood Award from the National Fatherhood Initiative in Washington. The award is conferred on those who have made a significant contribution to the institution of fatherhood, either in their work or through their personal lives. Accompanying Jewell to the gala presentation were his wife Tene' and their children Buddy, Lacey and Joshua. It was daughter Lacey who inspired Jewell's first hit, "Help Pour Out The Rain (Lacey's Song)."
Throughout April, Jewell is reigning as Great American Country's Artist of the Month, an honor that carries with it heavier and more prominent airplay for all his music videos. Jewell's video for "If She Were Any Other Woman" has already gone No. 1 on GAC's viewer voted chart. The genial singer has also taped an exclusive concert for GAC that will begin airing April 22.
Jewell makes television history April 24 when he becomes the first country artist ever to be spotlighted on Shop At Home Network. To pre-sell his new album to the network's viewers, he will co-host and perform on an hour-long segment devoted entirely to his music. On the show, he will take phone calls from fans, perform three to four songs and chat with "Opry Backstage" host Nan Kelley. The live show will air at 5 p. m. Central Daylight Time and be rebroadcast on April 25.
Jewell will be the featured artist from Friday, April 29 - Monday May 1 at 5pm Central Daylight Time on XM Satellite Radio's "Highway 16 ShortCuts," a show where he will give behind the scenes stories for every song on the CD.
As his busiest month ever rolls on, Jewell will perform twice on "Crisco(R) Presents the Road to CMA Music Festival," a 10-city tour to promote the CMA Music Festival in Nashville, June 9-12. Jewell will take to the Crisco(R) stage in Orlando, Florida, April 25, and in Tampa, Florida, April 26. Fans who attend Jewell's two Wal-Mart in-stores will be the first fans to gain access to Buddy's new disc. While in Orlando, on the morning of April 26, he will sing on the nationally syndicated TV show, The Daily Buzz.
Jewell then heads to New York City to make his third appearance on MSNBC's "Imus In The Morning" on April 28. For the first time, Jewell will perform with his entire band in Imus's new studio. Jewell wraps up the month's promotional sweep on April 27 with an online chat with fans on USAToday.com. The conversation starts at 11am, Central Daylight Time.
