The Wallflowers Film Documentary for Dual Disc Version of Forthcoming 'Rebel, Sweetheart' Album

The Wallflowers Film Documentary for Dual Disc Version of Forthcoming 'Rebel, Sweetheart' Album

NEW YORK, April 20 /PRNewswire/ -- The Wallflowers have completed a behind-the-scenes documentary filmed exclusively for the Dual Disc version of their forthcoming "Rebel, Sweetheart" album, which will be released concurrently with the CD version on May 24. For "ReArrange," the Wallflowers let the cameras roll on a marathon recording session during which the band dramatically rearranged and recorded new versions of their hits, "One Headlight," and "6th Avenue Heartache," as well as the fan favorites "Some Flowers Bloom Dead," "For The Life Of Me," and the previously unreleased "Halo" (which had only been played live several times and had piqued fan interest through bootlegs).

According to The Wallflowers' songwriter, guitarist and lead singer Jakob Dylan, the band approached the Dual Disc with the idea of producing something new and substantial for their fans. "We didn't want to just stick on some old videos or make use of some scratchy footage that's been lying in a garage somewhere. We rearrange songs for nearly every live show we play, so we thought it might be interesting to take that approach into the studio, film everything, and see what comes of it."

Studio footage is interspersed with the band's not-so-serious interview with actor/comedian Jon Lovitz in which they discuss these songs and the band's creative process, as well as shed light on some long-debated queries such as whether The Wallflowers, a west coast band, "get in any fights with their east coast counterparts."

The Dual Disc also features a short film of highlights from The Wallflowers Halloween 2004 visit to the USS John C. Stennis, during which they performed a full rock'n'roll show in the middle of the Pacific Ocean for thousands of Naval troops and more than 1,500 of the crew's family and friends who joined the Stennis for it's annual "Tiger Cruise" as it sailed home after five-and-a-half months of deployment at sea.

"Rebel, Sweetheart" will be the 5th studio release from the Grammy-winning Los Angeles-based rock and roll band. The album's first single, "The Beautiful Side Of Somewhere" was released to radio three weeks ago and is already a top-ten hit on the AAA format alongside new records from U2, Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen, Jack Johnson and Keane.
