Nokia Connects People With Art as Tribeca Film Festival Sponsor

New Nokia 6682 Imaging Phone to Make Its Directorial Debut

NEW YORK, April 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Nokia (NYSE:NOK) celebrates the art of filmmaking as a signature sponsor of New York City's Tribeca Film Festival April 19-May 1. Welcoming film buffs and art aficionados alike, Nokia invites festivalgoers to experience the latest in independent film and mobile entertainment.

Making its United States premier at the Festival will be the new Nokia 6682 -- a 1.3 megapixel imaging phone with video-editing capabilities. Festival attendees will be able to demo the new phone and even take a shot at creating their own movies. The Nokia 6682 is a state-of-the-art imaging phone which lets users channel their inner movie mogul by shooting and even editing high resolution video and digital images. The Nokia 6682 will be on public display throughout the various Tribeca Film Festival venues. The Nokia 6682 will be available for purchase this summer.

"Nokia is proud to bring the world of entertainment and mobility closer together at the Tribeca Film Festival," said Sara Paz, Marketing Director for Nokia's Multimedia unit in North America. "A long time patron of the arts, Nokia continues to explore new mediums through which people can connect to their creative self expression. By being a part of the Tribeca Film Festival, we are furthering that connection via the arts and entertainment in the city that never sleeps."

As a signature sponsor of the Tribeca Film Festival, Nokia is hosting the Tribeca Film Festival Art Awards Gallery at the VietCafe, showcasing works by artists Matthew Barney, Stephen Hannock, April Gornick, Eric Fischl, Richard Prince and Todd Stone. Nokia has created a series of exclusive public service announcements asking patrons to silence their cell phones while in the theater. These specially designed Nokia PSAs will be shown during the Festival to highlight the importance of giving each star their moment to shine.

"We are thrilled to have Nokia as our partner," said Craig Hatkoff, co- founder of the Tribeca Film Festival. "They came up with an incredibly creative and engaging solution to one of the festival's most persistent problems of asking the audience to silence their cell phones -- I think people will love it -- and actually silence their phones!"

Earlier this year, Nokia announced the opening of the Nokia Theatre in Times Square. This new, state-of-the-art music venue combines technology and live performances to bring music fans the ultimate concert experience. Next month, the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) will present Nokia with its Inspiration Award to honor the company's contributions to the arts through Nokia's international Connect to Art program, which will launch in the United States this summer. Connect to Art is a joint effort between the art community and Nokia to bring art to mobile devices. http://www.nokia.com/art

The Tribeca Film Festival was founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff to celebrate New York City as a major filmmaking capital, and to contribute to the long-term recovery of lower Manhattan after the attacks of September 11, 2001.
