Ty Pennington Style's seven coordinated collections are created from a tightly focused range of color, each with a distinct point of view, such as the hot oranges and peppery reds of the Caliente Stripe collection. The line features bedding sets and accessories, such as rugs, pillows, bed skirts and valences; bath accessories, including towels, bath rugs and shower curtains; home accents, including vases, lamps and candleholders; and tabletop accents such as flatware, dishes and placemats. The coordinating paint palette of 32 colors that inspired the designs also will be available only at Sears.
Pennington, known for his intuitive feel for how people want to live today, said, "Designing for Sears is very cool because they understand the desire today's families have to create modern, casual living spaces. These new furnishings and accessories are easy on the eyes and easy to care for, celebrating Sears as the good life partner for affordable style."
According to a 2005 survey commissioned by Sears, nearly two-thirds of all respondents said they would remodel their bedrooms if they could do it for under $500. Ty Pennington Style makes this possible, offering complete bedding sets priced at $120 to $200; accent pillows for under $25; and home accents starting at $6. Each collection uses colors, patterns and textures -- but with a twist that lends them a fresh new look and feel. Whether it's a quirky combination of "tandoori" and "tangelo" or "baja" and "tortuga teal," unusual microsuede with barrato stitching, or embossed-leather-look dinnerware, all of Pennington's designs are cool yet casual, unique yet practical.
"The debut of Ty Pennington Style represents an important part of Sears' home fashions strategy to broaden our product selection to solidify the company's position as the retailer of choice for families and their homes," said Steve Ryman, Sears vice president, home brands. "By the end of 2005, we expect the brand to be Sears' third largest private label home fashions brand. The new line capitalizes on Ty's recognized strength as a designer -- his knack for using design to enrich the lifestyles of today's families -- to give customers the fresh yet functional home products they want."
Three of the Ty Pennington Style collections, Bali Hai, Caliente Stripe and Lemongrass, will be available exclusively at Sears full-line stores nationwide. The remaining collections, Red Dragon, Chocolatte, Plum Crazy, and Luscious Lava, will be available at select Sears stores and on http://sears.com/ .
