Music On Command(TM) Merges Radio, Music Downloads

PALM SPRINGS, Calif., April 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Gone are the days of recording favorite songs off the radio with a boom box. Thanks to Music On Command(TM) (http://www.musiconcommand.com/) by technology development firm Baxter Technologies, Inc. (http://www.baxtech.com/) and Nielsen Broadcasting BDS, radio listeners across the U.S. can now call a toll-free number while listening to a song, talk radio or news broadcast and have it sent directly to them via e-mail.

Users can beta test the system now by signing up at http://www.musiconcommand.com/. They can then add FM and satellite radio stations to their lists of favorites; when they hear a radio broadcast they'd like to download, they call Music On Command, key in the station's frequency, and the system captures the song playing on that frequency at the moment the call was made. A link to download the song at Buy.com is then sent to the user via e-mail.

"Music On Command works by timelining radio broadcasts," explained Jack Baxter, founder of Baxter Technologies and developer of the patented Music On Command software. "We joined Nielsen Broadcasting BDS to capture their monitoring radio stations throughout the United States - and, in the future, throughout the world - and timeline their monitoring technology to deliver songs listeners hear at the time of broadcast."

For listeners already accustomed to paying reasonable fees for downloading songs online, Music On Command offers another advantage: Baxter is presently in talks with various music stores to offer radio listeners a lower price than most music downloading services currently charge.

"Music On Command is music as you hear it over the airwaves," said Baxter. "It doesn't matter whether you know the name of the artist or even the name of the song. Just call Music On Command while the song is playing, and you have instant access to it through Buy.com."

Those interested in trying Music On Command can sign up for the service, now in beta testing, at http://www.musiconcommand.com/. Retailers and investors interested in the system should contact Jack Baxter at jack@L7inc.com.
