This year's Round 3 Judges were Sayed Badreya (The Insider, Shallow Hal, T for Terrorist), Hanelle Culpepper (A Single Rose), Hesham Issawi (Saving Egyptian Film Classics, T for Terrorist), and Todd Norwood (Jack Milton: Fairy Tale Detective).

The 2004-2005 winners are as follows: 1st Place: The Photo Written, Produced, and Directed by Hari Das

"Perhaps the brilliance of The Photo is that it is the portrait of an average day. After all, tragedy rarely announces itself before arrival. It usually comes swiftly and seemingly out of nowhere. In short, The Photo is a film that flawlessly captures how easy it is for a child to fall unwittingly into the traps of life that adults try constantly to shelter them from."

2nd Place: Necrolog Written and Directed by Steven Addair Produced by Danielle Addair, Jim Hall

"Necrolog, a dramatic short by Steven Addair, relies as much upon cinematography as it does upon story-as much upon editing as it does upon acting. Necrolog is a complete motion picture that establishes a setting so tactile, and a mood so enveloping, that it could probably hold its own without actors. Lucky for us, though, Steven Addair included them.... With only a six- person crew by his side, and a Canon XL1 in his hands, Steven Addair put together a motion picture that works on every level."

3rd Place: Winter (En Hiver) Produced and Directed by Andy Collen Written by Amy Blumenstein-Collen and Andy Collen

"This pen-and-ink, animated tale subtly filters this winter morning through the eyes of its main character. Its touching, intimate story, without the inclusion of so much as one spoken word, is both a rarity in modern film and a much-needed reminder that filmmaking is first and foremost a visual medium."
