Comprehensive Application and Development Suite Advances IPTV Service Deployment Using Mainstream Web-Services Technology
LAS VEGAS, April 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Kasenna, the IPTV Company, will be previewing the latest version of its web-services based LivingRoom(TM) IPTV application suite at several partners' booths at the NAB 2005 show April 18-21.
LivingRoom v1.2 delivers advanced IPTV services including broadcast TV, pay-per-view, video-on-demand, network PVR, and a commercial music jukebox-all from the same application server. In addition, LivingRoom v1.2 supports easy integration of more advanced services such as Internet access, e-mail, chat, interactive gaming, and traffic watch using web services APIs.
LivingRoom clients are available in easily portable, thin client, browser-based configurations as well as with Macromedia Flash. LivingRoom v1.2 also includes a scalable and complete back-office application server for content management, channel packaging, transaction processing, billing system integration, subscriber management/provisioning integration, services management, and other key functions. LivingRoom will be available in high-availability configurations.
LivingRoom 1.2 showcases integration with industry-leading set-top boxes from Amino and Thomson, and with encryption solutions from Widevine and SecureMedia. Kasenna at the HP Booth -- # SL1961
HP will be demonstrating Kasenna MediaBase and a customized version of LivingRoom in its booth at NAB. For this demonstration, Kasenna has created a flash client that has an HP look and feel similar to HP's Media Gateway product. The demonstration includes broadcast IPTV, VOD and nPVR as well as Widevine as a conditional access system solution encrypting broadcast and VOD content. HP OpenView integration will also be demonstrated, to show how it can provide additional management and monitoring capabilities that are an integral part of an operator's FCAPS requirements.
Kasenna at the IBM Booth -- # SU7049
IBM will be showing Kasenna MediaBase and LivingRoom running on IBM xSeries server hardware with the addition of LivingRoom running on the IBM WebSphere (WAS) application server. The two demos, dubbed "IPTV Operator Experience" and "IPTV Subscriber Experience," will include broadcast IPTV and VOD running through IP set-top boxes from Amino.
Kasenna at the Optibase Booth -- # SL343
Optibase plans to demonstrate an IPTV solution with its own headend equipment, Kasenna MediaBase VOD servers, and InfoGate middleware. Kasenna has provided an OmniBase server for the demo.
