Fifty-Eight to Thirty-Five Percent Majority Disapprove of Bush's Position on Social Security

A new Harris Poll measures the proportions of all adults who approve or disapprove of President Bush's positions on six domestic policy issues which he has described as being important goals in his second term.

Majorities approve of his intention to simplify the tax code and to make his tax cuts permanent. A plurality approves of his desire for tort law reform. Pluralities disapprove of his energy and environmental policies. On only one of the six issues is there a majority that disapproves of the president's position. A fifty-eight to thirty-five percent majority disapproves of his position on social security reform.

Child-Resistant Caps on Medications; 'Resistant' Doesn't Mean 'Childproof'

During National Poison Prevention Week (March 20-26, 2005) the Hennepin Regional Poison Center would like to remind parents that child-resistant containers are not childproof. Most children are capable of opening a child- resistant container if given enough time. Many ingestions occur from containers that are left open or when medication is put in "pill organizers" or smaller containers that have no child-resistant closure. This often occurs while children are visiting grandparents or when grandparents are visiting; or any time pill or vitamin organizers are within reach of children.
