Oy Vey! Infinite Entertainment Inks $150-Million in Funding

Oy Vey! Infinite Entertainment Inks $150-Million in Funding

LOS ANGELES, March 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Infinite Entertainment has secured a formal funding agreement that will provide the company with more than $150-million for the production, acquisition and distribution of feature films and entertainment properties. The agreement was announced by veteran film industry financier Ruben Arizpe, Jr., who has taken the role as President and CEO of Infinite Entertainment, alongside Executive V.P. Debbie Bishop, who will be heading up production activities. Initial projects include the acclaimed comedy, "Oy Vey! My Son Is Gay!" from New Generation Films and five additional features.

Arizpe is well known within the Hollywood production community from his work as a corporate and venture-capital financing advisor on several major studio funding slates. Bishop is a fifteen-year industry veteran with an extensive background in distribution, marketing, merchandising and promotions. Other key executives for Infinite include Judith G. Jueterbock, VP, General Counsel and John Pirincci, VP Investor Relations. According to Arizpe, Infinite and its venture capitalist partner have created a system to provide a safe environment for investors as well as a haven for producers seeking creative control of their films.

First on the Infinite slate is "Oy Vey! My Son Is Gay!" from New Generation Films. Evgeny Afineevsky and Svetlana Anufrieva, producers, are in talks with Lainie Kazan ("My Big Fat Greek Wedding"), Liza Minelli, Robert Klein, Renee Taylor, Joe Bologna and Lakers basketball player Slava Medvedenko to star.

Next up is "Book of Joe" from Infinite's own Matt Longo and Evan Harris, Executive Producers. The pic stars Gena Rowlands, Peter Falk, Charles Durning and Joe Mantegna and is a romantic comedy about a guy who suddenly becomes the most sought after man in the world when a movie star publishes her memoirs of their torrid love affair.

Romantic comedy, "Dress 2 Impre$$" from producers Troy Mathis and Ray Morris' banner, Mathis & Morris Productions, Inc. has been greenlit, along with "Unsupervised", a family comic-adventure from Jeff Franklin Productions, written by "Full House," "Hangin' With Mr. Cooper" creator and E.P. Franklin and Brad Kaaya ("O"), to be directed by Jeff Franklin. An untitled horror/comedy scripted by Judy Jueterbock is currently in development with Left Field Film Corp. and Infinite will produce and finance an hour-long comedy special featuring Mike Marino, New Jersey's "Bad-Boy."

All of the Infinite funded productions are expected to be released through a distribution agreement with one of the major studios, details of which will be announced later. Infinite plans to build relationships with other distributors, including the possibility of financing and co-financing deals. The initial 150 million dollar fund set up by Infinite Entertainment and a major, California-based venture capital firm is expected to be completed in early to mid-March. This will be the first in a series of raises for films and acquisitions for the next ten years.

In addition to its production slate, Infinite is planning to fund theatrical "prints and advertising" costs on selected features, including current discussions for the upcoming Hannover House animated epic, "EL CID: THE LEGEND" from Filmax.
