LOS ANGELES, March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Talk radio's most influential executives, programmers, and on-air personalities will meet at the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel in Los Angeles, March 10-12, for the 10th annual R&R Talk Radio Seminar hosted by the industry trade publication Radio & Records.

The intensity of news on both the international and domestic fronts continued to make News/Talk radio the most listened-to format again in 2004. Talk radio has become America's social "water cooler" in the new millennium as millions of Americans of all ages flock to both AM and FM Talk stations to discuss issues like the war on terrorism, liberal vs. conservative talk and Social Security reform, and also share their opinions about people and personalities ranging from Michael Jackson and Martha Stewart to Paris Hilton and Donald Trump.

The R&R Talk Radio Seminar is an annual event designed to help News/Talk radio executives, programmers and personalities maximize their potential with listeners and advertisers. This year's agenda features a wide range of business, broadcasting and political expertise along with special guest speakers including:

* Sean Hannity, ABC Radio Networks host and Fox News personality. Hannity will host and moderate an exclusive newsmaker luncheon on Friday, March 11 with a special guest to be announced on site at TRS 2005.

* Joe Scarborough, Westwood One talk radio host and MSNBC personality will bring his perspective on current events and issues to TRS 2005 during an exclusive general session on Friday morning March 11.

* Al Franken, Air America Radio talk host, comedian and author will offer a view from the left and his own special brand of comedic commentary on politics and pop-culture at a special morning session on Saturday March 12.

* Randy Michaels, currently president of Radioactive and former CEO of broadcasting behemoth Clear Channel Radio. Michaels will be honored with the 2005 R&R News/Talk Radio Lifetime Achievement Award for his 40 years in the broadcasting industry and his groundbreaking contributions to the evolution and success of modern-day News/Talk radio.

Also scheduled to appear in a special presentation at the R&R Talk Radio Seminar are nationally syndicated radio hosts Phil Hendrie, Tom Leykis, Erich "Mancow" Muller and Bob Rivers. All will appear together at this year R&R Talk Radio Seminar kick-off event, "The Other Side of Talk Radio" on Thursday afternoon March 10.

Making special breakfast appearances at TRS 2005 are Salem Radio Network host Mike Gallagher on Friday morning March 11, and Take On The Day's Dr. Laura Schlessinger on Saturday morning March 12.

The R&R Talk Radio Seminar is hosted by Radio & Records, the nation's leading trade publication to the radio broadcasting industry. Founded in 1973, R&R tracks radio business trends from management, regulatory, finance and programming perspectives.

R&R produces its weekly flagship printed publication along with both daily and weekly format-focused fax publications and a variety of e-mail newsletters. R&R also produces the nation's most trusted music charts that are used by leading radio stations across the country and by many of America's favorite national radio music countdown programs.

As part of TRS 2005 News/Talk radio stations, executives and personalities will be honored on Saturday, March 12 during the annual R&R News/Talk Industry Achievement Awards luncheon. Radio professionals working in the News/Talk radio industry voted earlier this year for nominees on both the local radio station and national network levels.
