RODEOHOUSTON(TM) Announces Star Lineup, Ticket Sales Information HOUSTON, Jan. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Twenty-four superstar entertainers will be heading to Houston for the 2005 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo(TM). Tickets go on sale Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at all Ticketmaster locations (excluding the Reliant Park box office until Monday, Jan. 17). STAR ENTERTAINMENT The 2005 lineup is a diverse group of 24 acclaimed entertainers that span several genres of music. Together these entertainers have garnered numerous music industry honors, including 59 Country Music Association awards, 46 Academy of Country Music awards and 11 GRAMMY awards. These stars are collectively looking at 21 GRAMMY nominations for 2005. During Spring Break Stampede, the carnival will open at 2 p.m. on weekdays. The 2005 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo opens at Reliant Park with the World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest, Feb. 24-26. The Rodeo Parade and ConocoPhillips Rodeo Run will be held in downtown Houston Saturday, Feb. 26. All daily attractions at Reliant Park open at 8 a.m., Tuesday, March 1, and conclude on Sunday, March 20. TICKET INFORMATION Rodeo ticket prices range from $16 to $77, plus a Ticketmaster convenience charge, and include entrance into Reliant Stadium, Reliant Center, Reliant Arena, The Hideout (for those 21 years and older), outdoor activities and booths, and the carnival. Tickets can be purchased through all Ticketmaster locations, on the Internet at ticketmaster.com, or by phone at 713.629.3700. Ticketmaster locations include Foley's, Fiesta, select FYE stores and Wherehouse Music. On the opening day of ticket sales, there is a 20-ticket limit for the Kenny Chesney performance on Wednesday, March 9. Most Ticketmaster locations in the Houston area will be distributing linestubs beginning at 9 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 15. Drawings will be held at each of the locations at approximately 9:30 a.m. to determine the linestub number which will start the line for ticket purchases at these locations. At all ticket locations, linestubs will be available only to persons ages 12 and older, and each person will receive only one linestub. Linestubs that have been tampered with will not be honored. Ticket buyers should be aware that the only Show-authorized ticket outlets are Ticketmaster outlets. Ticketmaster also will be selling World's Championship Bar-B-Que Contest tickets. VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express cards will be accepted at ticketmaster.com. NEW FOR 2005 SHOW New this year are Chute Seats, located directly behind the rodeo bucking chutes on the north end of Reliant Stadium. Once the stage is set for the star entertainer, Chute Seat ticket holders will have the option of watching from their seats, or walking in front of the chutes to stand in a special area on the Reliant Stadium Rodeo arena floor. These seats are priced at $300 for the front row and $200 for the second row, and include an authentic chuck wagon dinner, parking (for each two seats purchased), Corral Club(TM) admission and drink coupons, a collectible pin, a 2005 FunPass, and carnival ride coupons. On Sunday, March 20, the last day of RODEOHOUSTON, stay tuned for the first-ever RODEOHOUSTON Collegiate Championship competition. Here, the toughest college rodeo athletes from the Southern and Southwest regions in Texas, which include parts of Louisiana and New Mexico respectively, will meet, all vying for RODEOHOUSTON Collegiate Champion titles. This special event will feature the same fan favorites of a RODEOHOUSTON event, including the grand entry, calf scramble, and star entertainment. RODEO METRO EXPRESS As the most convenient way to reach the Show, the Rodeo METRO Express will provide transportation for Show visitors from eight shuttle locations throughout Houston. Round-trip transportation on the shuttle is $3 for riders ages 13 and older and free for those ages 12 and younger. The Rodeo METRO Express is sponsored by Ford and Texas Ford Dealers. From the northwest, riders can catch the shuttles at Delmar Stadium and METRO North Shepherd Park and Ride. In the southeast, the METRO Monroe Park and Ride serves as a pick-up and drop-off location. The Aramco Services Company at 9009 West Loop South, METRO West Loop Park and Ride, and METRO Westwood Park and Ride will serve patrons on the southwest side. Centrally located, the Reed Road HLS&R Park and Ride will offer longer hours of operation than the other locations. New for the 2005 Show is the Texas Medical Center Smithlands location at North Stadium Drive. Each lot is serviced by METRO lift buses. Rodeo METRO Express service will begin for the World's Championship Bar-B- Que Contest Feb. 24-26. The Reed Road HLS&R lot will run from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. all three days. All other lots will run from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday and Friday, Feb. 24 and 25, and from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26. The last in-bound bus at all locations during the World's Championship Bar-B- Que Contest will depart for Reliant Park at 9:30 p.m. each evening. Daily shuttle service to and from Reliant Park will begin on Tuesday, March 1. The Reed Road HLS&R lot will have continuous shuttle service from 5 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily. All other lots will operate from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., Monday through Thursday; 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Fridays; and 9 a.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday and Sunday. METRORail also stops at Reliant Park for an easy ride from downtown or the nearby parking lots. There will be no bus service from Minute Maid Park during the 2005 Show.
