First-Ever Love Song Collections From R&B Hitmaker Johnny Gill and Country Great Don Williams Released for Valentine's Day

First-Ever Love Song Collections From R&B Hitmaker Johnny Gill and Country Great Don Williams Released for Valentine's Day LOS ANGELES, Jan. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The LOVE SONGS series makes two romantic new additions in time for Valentine's Day 2005 -- the first love song collections from R&B star Johnny Gill and country stalwart Don Williams. Each album, with every track digitally remastered, will be released January 11, 2005. JOHNNY GILL - LOVE SONGS (Motown/UMe) features not only hits and great album tracks but also a previously unreleased version of a well-loved hit -- a Mario Winans remix of "It's Your Body" featuring Roger Troutman (the original was Top 20 R&B). Most of the album's tracks do not overlap with the previously released Gill editions of the 20TH CENTURY MASTERS or ULTIMATE COLLECTION series. Two of them have never before appeared on any Gill album: the soundtrack contributions "I'm Still Waiting" (Top 30 R&B from New Jack City) and "Let's Just Run Away" (from Mo' Money). Among the hit selections are "My My My" (#1 R&B/#10 pop), "I Got You" (Top 30 R&B, featuring Boyz II Men's Nathan, Shawn and Wayna), "Quiet Time To Play" (in its original studio version; the live version was Top 30 R&B), the Babyface production "Let's Get The Mood Right" (Top 20 R&B) and New Edition's #1 R&B "Can You Stand The Rain." The remaining tracks are "Lady Dujour," "Let's Spend The Night," "Mastersuite" and "Someone To Love" (written and produced by R. Kelly). Today Gill is still making the ladies swoon as he appears on the 2004 New Edition reunion album One Love as well as on tour with the group. DON WILLIAMS - LOVE SONGS (MCA Nashville/UMe) brings together 13 of the best ballads from one of modern country music's most respected and popular artists. Spanning 1973 - 1983, nine selections were Top 10 Country, six of them #1 smashes. Possessing a warm, laid-back baritone, he sang his emotionally forthright material with a confessional intimacy that helped him become the world's most popular country performer of the '70s. DON WILLIAMS - LOVE SONGS opens with the tender "The Shelter Of Your Eyes" (Top 20) and "My Woman's Love" from his 1973 debut album. Over the next three years, he scored with the #1s "I Wouldn't Want To Live If You Didn't Love Me," "You're My Best Friend," "(Turn Out The Light And) Love Me Tonight" and "Till The Rivers All Run Dry" plus the #5 "We Should Be Together" and fan favorite "Your Sweet Love." The latter part of the decade yielded the #1 "Love Me Over Again" and #3 "Lay Down Beside Me" as well as "Falling In Love Again." 1980's heart-on-sleeve #1 "I Believe In You" then became one of his biggest sellers. His LOVE SONGS concludes with the 1983 #2 hit "Nobody But You" but Williams has continued to record, including 2004's aptly-titled MY HEART TO YOU. Other LOVE SONGS albums star Engelbert Humperdinck, Peggy Lee, The Temptations, Donny & Marie Osmond, Aaron Neville, Neil Diamond, Michael Jackson, Four Tops, Diana Ross, Lionel Richie Vanessa Williams, Quincy Jones, Isaac Hayes and Marvin Gaye.
