Convergia will utilize these services for the immediate deployment of its IP telephony and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) strategy to customers primarily located in Spain, North and Latin America. Convergia also plans to utilize Global Crossing services to provide customers with a converged solution for voice, video and data transmission in the second phase of Convergia's IP rollout. Signed in November, the new $3.8 million contract will allow Convergia to utilize Global Crossing's premier global IP-based network to expand its international reach to more than 575 cities in 50 countries. The deal, which builds on an existing three-year relationship between the companies, is the result of a competitive review process through which Convergia selected Global Crossing to provide a converged Pan-American data network.
