Audiovox Gets SIRIUS With 4 New Models HAUPPAUGE, N.Y., and LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Audiovox Corporation (NASDAQ:VOXX) today unveiled their new expanded Sirius Satellite Radio line about which Tom Malone Senior VP, Sales said, "We have been successful with the Sirius System from their inception and the expansion of these new models reflects how positive we feel about the trend toward satellite radio and what it can mean to our distribution base." The recent announcement of shock-jock Howard Stern joining Sirius in 2006 has sparked a renewed interest in the category. "Satellite radio sales for Audiovox have been very strong this year and we believe that these new Sirius products should keep that momentum going," said Malone. "Our receivers have features that enhance the satellite radio experience like scrolling sports scores and stock ticker data. We even support the use of off-the-shelf rechargeable batteries by way of a charging circuit built into some of our accessories." The Audiovox Sirius systems feature a plug and play receiver, an optional mobile docking station for vehicles, boats and campers, a home docking station for the den, bedroom, etc., and a boom box. With the addition of one or more of these options consumers can expand their listening pleasure from their vehicles to almost anyplace they enjoy music, news, sports and entertainment, with all the clarity and quality that the Sirius format offers. Malone noted that several key retailers had taken advantage of the "Combo Kit" which combines a receiver with a mobile docking station at an MSRP of $149.99. The Combo Kit will be offered again in the Sirius format (SIRCMB3 at MSRP $149.). The new Sirius Satellite Radio models are: Receiver SIRPNP3 Receiver: featuring a digital wireless FM transmitter with 35 built-in selectable frequencies, small low-profile design, large 6-line LCD display with amber backlighting. Other features include dedicated "Jump" button for in-out access to your favorite programming or traffic and weather, memory capture which stores 20 favorite songs and when activated will search all incoming channels for those songs, listing and search-ahead capability by channel name, artist name, or song title, and time-based functions including on-screen clock, alarm, sleep timer and a program alert that allows the receiver to switch to a pre-programmed channel at a selected time. Mobile Dock SIRCK3 Mobile Dock: Sleek, low-profile featuring cigarette lighter adapter, magnetic roof-mount antenna, 3.5mm jack direct connect to aftermarket radios via RCA input (optional cable - SATRCA needed).
