$26.4 Million Powerball Jackpot Won in Pennsylvania!

$26.4 Million Powerball Jackpot Won in Pennsylvania! POWERBALL, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- One lucky player in Pennsylvania matched all 6 numbers Saturday and walked away with the $26.4 million jackpot. The player will now have to decide if they want to take the 29-year, 30- installment annuity, or the one time cash "lump sum" amount of $14,734,333. There were a total of 323,671 additional winners in America's Game Saturday evening. Those winners won prizes totaling $3,722,893. The numbers drawn were 11, 23, 32, 33, 34 and the Powerball was 38. The Power Play multiplier was 4. Six players correctly matched the 5 white numbers and won $100,000. These tickets were sold in Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, New Mexico, and Tennessee (2). Two additional players in Pennsylvania not only matched this prize level, but also had the Power Play for a total win of $400,000. Sixteen players matched 4 white numbers plus the Powerball and won $5,000. One additional player not only matched 4+1, but also purchased the Power Play option, giving them a total win of $20,000. A total of 43,882 winning Powerball plays were multiplied by 4. Winners were able to do that by purchasing the Power Play option for one dollar. With Power Play you can multiply your winnings, except for the jackpot, from 2 to 5 times. At the beginning of each drawing a wheel is spun to select that night's multiplier. Players purchased more than $14.5 million in tickets between Wednesday and Saturday night. The jackpot for Wednesday, January 26, will be a $10 million annuity, or $5.6 million cash. The lotteries sold more than $2.2 billion in Powerball tickets in FY04. That translates into more than $660 million for worthwhile state projects. Powerball is now played in 27 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
