One Hawk Helps Another
One Hawk Helps Another NEW YORK, Dec. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The New York City Audubon Society, who recently came to the rescue of Pale Male & Lola, the red tailed hawks who were evicted from their upper east side Manhattan nest, have found support in local favorite NYC band, Lonehawk. The members of Lonehawk, who all grew up in Manhattan, heard about their namesake's plight, and have decided to team up with the Society to bring awareness to a younger generation of supporters. Lonehawk will be donating the proceeds from their January 6th Mercury Lounge show to the New York City Audubon Society, as well as $1.00 from every CD sold from the band's website http://www.lonehawk.org/ through January 6th. The New York City Audubon Society will be on hand to register new members. Recently, Pale Male has returned to his new nest, which the New York City Audubon Society successfully negotiated with the building management, with the hope that this partnership will ensure that Pale Male and his feathered friends will remain in the spotlight. The band will be working with the Audubon Society throughout the year to develop unique drives and events to bring awareness to their causes, such as Working for the Safe Passage of Migratory Birds, Sheltering Harbor Herons and preserving the city's Natural Areas. The benefit show will be held on January 6th at 9:00 at The Mercury Lounge - 217 East Houston Street.
