Based on an original new story by J.K. Rowling, John Tiffany and Jack Thorne, Harry
Potter and the Cursed Child, a new play by Jack Thorne, is the first official Harry Potter
story to be presented on stage. It will receive its world premiere in London's Palace
Theatre on 30 July 2016. The script book will go on sale at bookstores across India at
11.30 a.m. (IST) on 31 July.

Speaking about the release, Thomas Abraham, Managing Director of Hachette India, said,
'Once again this is going to be a publishing sensation as the magic continues from where
it left off in Book 7. The rave reactions from fans, post the London previews clearly
indicate that this is classic Harry Potter back again.'

The eighth story begins where the seventh book concludes. It was always difficult
being Harry Potter and it isn't much easier now that he is an overworked employee of the
Ministry of Magic, a husband, and father of three school-age children. While Harry
grapples with a past that refuses to stay where it belongs, his youngest son Albus must
struggle with the weight of a family legacy he never wanted. As past and present fuse
ominously, both father and son learn the uncomfortable truth: sometimes darkness comes
from unexpected places.

J.K. Rowling's bestselling Harry Potter series of seven books, published between 1997
and 2007, have sold over 450 million copies worldwide, are distributed in more than 200
territories, are translated into 79 languages, and have been turned into eight blockbuster
films.
