From DAO to CODE, SingularDTV's 'Centrally Organized Distributed Entity'

A Regulatory & Tax Compliant Structure to Protect Token Issuers/Holders on Ethereum

NEW YORK, July 7, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- SingularDTV (S-DTV) announces the formation of a new organizational structure for tokenized ecosystems on Ethereum called CODE, which stands for Centrally Organized Distributed Entity.

The SingularDTV CODE is made up of a Centrally Organized (CO) governance component and a tokenized Distributed Entity (DE). The combined CODE structure builds a bridge between the legacy business world and the decentralized paradigm being built on Ethereum, one which is regulatory and tax compliant and protects both the token issuer and token holders from potential liability.

The structure is the result of a collaboration between SingularDTV, developers from ConsenSys and the legal architects behind the Ethereum Foundation, Swiss law firm MME.

An important aspect of the CODE structure is the creation of a set of functions that transform centralized legacy resources - such as IP - into decentralized resources - tokens. Additionally, decentralized resources travelling through the CODE can be used to build revenue generating projects such as film and television content as well as software. Any centralized revenue derived from this structure can then be decentralized via CODE's smart contract system and distributed back into the Ethereum ecosystem to the CODE's token holders. This 2-way flow of resources continually benefits the growth of Ethereum and is the backbone of the SingularDTV revenue and IP distribution structure.

SingularDTV plans to launch its tokenized ecosystem by the end of summer 2016.
