Red Hot Chili Peppers to launch exclusive limited-run SiriusXM Canada channel

Red Hot Chili Peppers Radio to be hosted by super fan and comedian Chris Rock

TORONTO, June 14, 2016 /CNW/ - SiriusXM Canada (TSX: XSR), the country's leading audio entertainment company, announced today that it will launch Red Hot Chili Peppers Radio on Wednesday, June 15 in celebration of the band's new studio album, The Getaway. Chris Rock, Red Hot Chili Peppers super fan, will host the limited-run channel.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Radio will feature music spanning the band's entire career including music from their new album, The Getaway, which is scheduled to be released on June 17. The channel will also include commentary from the band on writing, recording and performing live, and will air songs by influential artists hand-picked from the band's personal music collection, including artists such as Jimi Hendrix, Funkadelic, Minutemen, as well as '90s alternative and grunge.

As host of the channel, Rock, who inducted the Red Hot Chili Peppers into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2012, will introduce music and share personal stories about their nearly 20-year friendship.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Radio will debut on SiriusXM, Wednesday, June 15 at 3:00 pm ET and will run through Tuesday, June 21 on channel 34 and through the SiriusXM App on smartphones and other connected devices, as well as at siriusxm.ca.
