Media Invitation: Arrival of The Great Canadian Ride / La Grande Traversée

A CYCLING RELAY FROM MONTREAL TO VANCOUVER COVERING MORE THAN 2,200 KM

VANCOUVER, June 16, 2015 /CNW/ - The Great Canadian Ride / La Grande Traversée (LGT) will arrive in Vancouver on June 18. Since the start of the event on May 18 in Montreal, a total of more than 200 cyclists from all over Canada will have participated, covering more than 2,200 km!!

On June 18, some twenty young people from Kelowna, New Westminster, Courtenay, Penticton, Surrey, Comox Summerland, Maple Ridge, Winnipeg, Victoria, Coquitlam, Abbotsford and Mission will cross the finish line.

The Great Canadian Ride / La Grande Traversée
The Great Canadian Ride / La Grande Traversée is a national cycling relay that began in 2013 with 51 participants. In 2014, the event expanded with a 5-week course between Victoria, BC and Quebec City. Two hundred participants from all over Canada took up the challenge. Now in its fourth year, The Great Canadian Ride / La Grande Traversée has more than 200 participants. The cyclists will complete a relay of 2,200 km from east to west in about thirty days, creating ambassadors for healthy lifestyles in the schools they visit along the way.
