Kenny Loggins to Perform on 'Live from Daryl's House' on MTV Live June 23
Upcoming TV appearances include PBS' 'A Capitol Fourth' and 'Soundstage,' ABC's 'Greatest Hits'
LOS ANGELES, June 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Legendary singer-songwriter and two-time Grammy® Award-winner Kenny Loggins will be the featured performer on "Live from Daryl's House" on Thursday, June 23 on MTV Live (previously Palladia).
The following week, he will perform his 1984 #1 Billboard single and "Song of the Year" "Footloose" --one of the most recognizable hits Loggins ever recorded, and one of the top 100 movie songs of the last 100 years -- on ABC's "Greatest Hits - Episode 1." The series premiere episode will kick off the six-week music event with chart toppers from 1980-1985, with performances by Pitbull, REO Speedwagon, Ray Parker, Jr., Jason Derulo, Kenny Loggins, Kim Carnes, Rick Springfield and Kool & The Gang. It airs June 30 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EDT) on ABC Television Network. Kenny will also perform in Episode 5, airing July 28.
This July 4th, Loggins will help celebrate America's 240th birthday with a performance at "A Capitol Fourth" on PBS. Broadcast live from the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol, the concert will also feature performances by Smokey Robinson, Gavin DeGraw, Cassadee Pope, and more, as well as the greatest display of fireworks anywhere in the nation.
In August, Loggins will tape a two-hour career retrospective for PBS' "Soundstage" with many special guests.
At last month's Chicago BookExpo, Loggins debuted his all new original children's book Footloose(Moondance Press, an imprint of Quarto Publishing Group USA, October 17, 2016) by Kenny Loggins, Music & Lyrics by Kenny Loggins and Dean Pitchford, and Illustrated by Tim Bowers. He was also the recipient of the ASCAP Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award at the annual Chapin Awards hosted by WhyHunger, which honors social movements changing the world and recognizes artist activists making a difference in the fight against hunger and poverty. This summer, Loggins will partner with WhyHunger's Summer Meals Rock for Kids campaign, which connects millions of children in need to free, nutritious meals all summer long.
