Let's Celebrate ¡Vive Tu Vida! Get Up! Get Moving!® 10th Year Anniversary in New York!

Events celebrating culture, delivering life-saving health screenings and supporting families

NEW YORK, May 31, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- This Saturday, June 4, 2016, the National Alliance for Hispanic Health and the Hispanic Federation present the 10th Annual ¡Vive tu vida! Get Up! Get Moving!(®) New York at Carnaval de la Cultura Latina. The event promotes Hispanic family physical activity and good nutrition for better health and wellness for all. This FREE, open to the public event is made possible by an extraordinary group of partners and volunteers.

"This year's tenth annual "¡ViveTu Vida! Get Up! Get Moving!®health expo will allow us to touch the lives of over 2, 000 individuals with health screenings and education on health topics such as blood pressure, glucose, HIV, BMI, asthma, HPV, and various cancers," said Jose Calderón, President of the Hispanic Federation. "GUGM allows us to improve the lives of thousands and work overall towards building a healthier community."

-- Health Screenings: Asthma, blood pressure, glucose, cholesterol, and HIV
-- Fitness: Zumba, sports clinics, martial arts, and a dance-a-thon
starting at 4 p.m.
-- Health Information: Information for NY State of Health Marketplace,
Medicaid and CHIP
-- Nutrition: Fresh fruits and healthy snacks available, along with
educational resources
-- Family fun: Live music, dance performances, prizes and giveaways
