New large-scale a cappella group to perform at Carnegie Hall in 2017
TORONTO, April 11, 2016 /CNW/ - Calling all singers! Do you want to join a brand-new group, sing rock and pop songs onstage, and perform at Carnegie Hall?
Welcome to SoundCrowd - Toronto's FIRST large-scale a cappella singing sensation. All voice. No limits.
Launched on April 8 by Artistic Director and BroadwayWorld nominee Scott Pietrangelo, SoundCrowd today announces its city-wide audition campaign. 80 lucky singers will form this exciting new group - led by Pietrangelo, and choreographed by Mirvish and Broadway veteran Valerie Stanois.
SoundCrowd has also received an official invitation to perform with musical director Deke Sharon (Pitch Perfect) at New York City's Carnegie Hall in 2017 for the Total Vocal III concert.
"The guy is amazing," says Sharon, who worked with Pietrangelo at Carnegie in 2015. "He's starting a new group now and YOU want to be a part of it!"
To audition for SoundCrowd's inaugural season (starting September 2016), simply make a video of yourself singing your favourite song and e-mail the YouTube link to info@soundcrowd.ca by June 30.
